E.L.I. Assessment
How an E.L.I. Can Support Your Everyday Life
Maybe you don’t take criticism well (at home or at work).
Or you’re constantly worrying about the big, and little, things.
Perhaps you have trouble letting go of feeling slighted or being wronged.
Or maybe you have a sinking feeling that you’re living life out of alignment.
No matter what you are struggling with, The Energy Leadership™ Index (E.L.I.) can help you gain more awareness to make the necessary changes to feel at ease in your life.
The E.L.I. is an attitudinal assessment. This assessment differs from personality assessments as it is not intended to label a person and have them work well within that label. Instead, it measures your level of energy based on your attitude, or perception and perspective of your world. Because attitude is subjective, it can be altered. By working with a coach using the E.L.I., you can change your attitude and perspective for the better, feel more in control of your life, and improve your leadership effectiveness.
Benefits
Whether applied to your personal life or in the workplace, an E.L.I allows you to:
See what you’re really good at, including strengths you may have forgotten
Uncover the beliefs guiding your decisions
Notice the patterns you fall into when you’re stressed
Find out what’s draining you most, and where your energy is slowly leaking
Understand why you’er exhausted, even after a full night’s sleep, or what keeps replaying in your head and keeping you up

Questions About the ELI
-
The ELI is an online assessment created by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). It measures how you perceive and respond to your world, especially under stress, and shows which of seven lenses you lean on most. It's 70 questions and takes about 20 minutes.
-
Those are personality assessments. They describe who you are, which tends to stay fairly stable. The ELI is an attitudinal assessment. It shows how you're seeing and responding to things right now, which can change. That's what makes it so useful if you want to do something differently instead of just understanding yourself better.
-
Yes. The ELI shows how you respond under pressure compared to when things are going well, which patterns you fall into when you're stressed, and what's draining your energy. Most people find the stress results the most eye-opening part.
-
The ELI is a strong option because it looks at how your mindset shapes the way you lead, decide, and communicate, not just your style. Leaders often see why certain situations, people, or decisions take so much out of them.
-
Often, yes. Burnout and the patterns that come with it tend to show up clearly in ELI results, in how much of your energy is going toward draining patterns, how you respond under stress, and where you're running on empty. In the debrief, I'll walk you through what I'm seeing and what's driving it. The ELI isn't a medical diagnosis, so if things feel serious, it's worth talking with your doctor too.
-
The assessment is online, has 70 questions, and takes about 20 minutes. The debrief is 75 minutes.
-
We meet for a 75-minute debrief where I walk you through your results and we talk about what they mean for your life and work. You'll also get an email summary of your results afterward, if you’d like.
-
Yes. You can book the ELI on its own. Once you've booked, I'll send you a link to take the assessment before our debrief.
-
Yes. I use the ELI in team training to give people a shared way to talk about stress, communication, and how they work together. Learn more on my Training & Development page.
-
The ELI is debriefed by coaches trained and certified through iPEC. I'm an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP), and the ELI is part of every 1:1 coaching package I offer.
Process
The ELI is included in all of my 1:1 coaching and leadership packages, and it’s also available on its own. Through the assessment and debrief, you’ll see how much of your energy is going towards draining patterns versus fueling ones, and we’ll talk about how to sustainably shift that.
When you book an ELI, you’ll get :
A link to the online assessment (70 questions, about 20 minutes)
A 75-minute debrief call to walk through your results, with coaching not he patterns you fall into most.
An email summary of your results
