Why Coaching?
Coaching gets dismissed a lot, usually by people who
haven’t worked with someone well-trained. Here’s what it actually helps with.
Releasing Judgment
You stop running every decision past the voice in your head that says you should have figured this out by now.
Making Choices With Clarity
You can see what's actually driving a choice, so you're not deciding out of fear, guilt, or habit.
Gaining Confidence
It comes from understanding how you work under pressure, which lasts longer than a pep talk.
Taking Aligned Action
You act on what you already know you want, instead of planning it for the fifth time.
Achieving Long-Lasting Results
You leave with tools to handle the next hard thing on your own.
I work with people on persoanl and professional challenges, and often it’s both at once.
Therapy vs. Coaching: What’s the Difference?
People ask me this all the time, and it’s a fair question, since both are meant to make your life better.
I often walk clients through this diagram :
The short version: therapy often focuses on healing, including past trauma, and therapists are licensed to diagnose and treat mental health conditions. Coaching focuses on where you are now, where you want to go, and the patterns getting in the way. There’s real overlap, and plenty of people work with both. If something comes up in coaching that’s better suited to a therapist, I tell my clients. I go deep on this in Life Coaching vs. Therapy.
Coaching isn’t regulated, so anyone can call themselves a coach. That’s why it’s worth asking any coach about their training and credentials before you start.
I’m a PCC-credentialed coach with more than a decade of experience. In sessions, we start by figuring out what’s tripping you up, keeping in mind what you want to work towards. Whether it’s personal, professiona, or both, we look at what’s underneath it, so the change actually holds.
Coaching Can Help You Make Meaningful Change
Almost everything is searchable now. You can look up how to save money, change careers, or get healthier, and find hundreds of answers in seconds. None of them get you moving. them get
So why are people still not getting what they want?
The information was never what was missing. What gets in the way is what a search can’t see - beliefs you picked up years ago, a past attempt that didn’t go well and that you’re afraid of repeating, or that voice that asks, “Who am I to want this?”
Does Coaching Actually work?
That’s what coaching works on - the beliefs and patterns that keep you from acting what you already know you want.
The research backs this up. A meta-analysis from University of Amsterdam, which pooed 18 studies of coaching, found that coaching had significant positive effects on performance, well-being, coping, work attitidues, and how week people work towards their goals.
My Training and Credentials
When I started coaching, I chose to align with the International Coachign Federation (ICF), the largest progessional organization for coaches, which sets standards for training and ethics.
I trained at the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), where I earned my Certified Professional Coach (CPC) credential. The program was nearly a year long and very hands-on, which a lot of feedback along the way.
I earned my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the ICF in December 2020, and I keep it current through ICF-approved continuing education.
I’m also certified in the NArrative Enneagram and an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner, and I keep learning so I have more to bring to the people I work with.

Common Questionss About Life Coaching
-
A life coach helps you get clear on what you want, understand what's getting in the way, and act on it. I ask questions, notice patterns you might not see from the inside, and help you try new ways of responding. You do the deciding. I help you see what you're working with.
-
You don't need a crisis. Most people reach out when something has felt off for a while and figuring it out on their own hasn't worked. If you're curious and willing to look at your own patterns, that's usually enough. I wrote more about this in How to Know If You're Ready for a Life Coach.

That's common, and it's fine. "Something feels off and I can't name it" is a real starting point. Part of our early work is figuring out what's actually going on.
-
We talk about whatever is most present for you that week, whether it's a decision, a conversation you're dreading, or a pattern that keeps showing up. I ask questions, reflect back what I'm noticing, and we figure out what you want to try next. Sessions are 50 minutes.
-
My 1:1 coaching is 12 sessions over four months. It starts with the Energy Leadership Index assessment and a 75-minute debrief of your results, so we're working with real information from the beginning.
-
No. If you want someone who's done your exact job to tell you what to do, that's a consultant or a mentor, and both can be really valuable. Coaching works differently. I don't need to know your industry to see the patterns in how you make decisions, handle pressure, and lead. An outside perspective often makes those patterns easier to spot.

Yes. I'm based in New Jersey, and sessions are on video, so I work with people wherever they live. If you're in North Jersey and meeting in person matters to you, we can talk about it.
-
Yes. As an ICF-credentialed coach, I follow the ICF Code of Ethics, which includes keeping what you share confidential. There are a few legal exceptions, which I'll walk you through before we start.

Book a free discovery call. We'll talk about what's going on and whether coaching with me is the right fit. You can book it here.
