My Approach
Coaching that starts with the patterns underneath your stress, decisions, and reactions.
After years of coaching, one thing that keeps showing up - how people see themselves shapes how they experience almost everything.
The way you interpret stress, success, relationships, and decisions isn’t neutral.
It runs through a lens you’ve built over time, usually without noticing.
My approach is grounded in Energy Leadership, a coaching framework developed by
iPEC (the Insitute for Professional Excellence in Coaching) that looks at how perception and stress shape behavior, energy, and decisions.
I also drawn on the Enneagram when it helps someone understand what’s motivating a pattern.
From there, everything is tailored.
What Does a Tailored Approach Mean?
I don’t focus only on behavior or surface-level strategies.
Instead, I work at the root of what is driving a person’s challenges. This includes thought patterns, core beliefs, emotional responses, and stress reactions.
When we work at that level, change tends to stick. Clients usually come in with one issue and end up handling a lot of things differently, because they understand how they respond to stress and have more options in the moment.
It’s especially useful if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step, even when everything looks fine from the outside.
-
"There's nothing I can do."
Fear, doubt, worry, overwhelm, exhaustion, anxiety, no choice
Problems feel bigger than your ability to handle them, and it can seem like you have no real choice or control.
-
"Why is everyone making this harder?"
Frustration, anger, resentment, blame, right-or-wrong thinking.
Challenges feel like a fight, and other people start to look like obstacles.
-
"It's fine. I'll make it work."
Tolerating, coping, rationalizing.
You're taking responsibility and getting through it, but often by settling instead of changing what isn't working.
-
"I'll just take care of it."
Service, compassion, helping, fix-it mode, vounteering, self-care, gratitude
You lead with care for others, which is a real strength, though it often comes at your own expense.
-
"Okay, what can we do with this?"
Curiosity, collaboration, solution-focused thinking, innovation
You get curious instead of frustrated, and you start looking for what will work for everyone involved.
-
"Wait, it's been three hours?"
Intuition, inspiration, joy, synthesis, in the flow/zone
This one is more of a feeling than a mindset. Ideas connect, things come easily, and you're completely absorbed in what you're doing. It usually doesn't last long, and it doesn't need to.
-
"It's all okay, me included."
Complete non-judgment, complete trust, absolute passion, zone of genius creation
You're not sorting anything into good or bad, and you trust what's unfolding instead of trying to control it. Most people touch this in rare moments rather than living here.
What Lens Do You See the World Through?
Your experiences, good and bad, build a lens that shapes how you read situations and respond to them. Once you can see which lens you’re looking through, it gets a lot easier to tell what’s working, what’s draining you, and what to do differently.
Energy Leadership describes seven of these lenses. Everyone moves through all of them, often in the same day, and none of them is “bad.” The work is noticing which lens is shaping your experience right now, especially under stress, and what it’s doing to your decisions, relationships, and energy.

How We’d Work Together 1:1
Here’s how that plays out over our time together :
Awareness: We start with the Energy Leadership Index assessment, so we can see which lenses you default to, especially under pressure.
Identifying Blocks: Then we look at what’s getting in the way, like self-doubt, old beliefs, or ways of thinking you’ve been running on for years without noticing.
Shifting Energy: With that in view, you start practicing different responses, questioning the beliefs that have kept you stuck, and spending more time in the lenses that actually help you.
Taking Action: We set goals that fit your values and what you actually want, and build a plan you’re motivated to follow, tailored to you and your life, rather than someone else’s method.
Sustaining Change: Before we finish, we make sure you have ways to keep this going on your own, especially when things get difficult again.
Over time, you start catching your patterns int he moment,
which is exactly when you can do something different.

How I Bring This Work to Organizations
I also bring Energy Leadership to teams. It gives people a shared way to talk about stress and how it shows in meetings, feedback, conflcit, and change, without labeling anyone. Sessions range from a one-hour overview to a half day, full day, or multi-session series.
